This Foundation will award grants up to $1,500 for necessary medical treatments for dogs across North America in need of care. Individuals may apply for a grant when they are struggling to cover the costs of their dog’s veterinary care. Dr. Steve Abrams Memorial Foundation (Petsavers, Inc.)

Friends and Vets Helping Pets

Funds treatments for curable, lifesaving diseases and severe injuries such as tumors, broken bones, ambulatory care, medication and post-surgical prosthetics.

Handicapped Pets Foundation

They fund the health and well-being of elderly, disabled, and injured animals through wheelchair donations. There is no funding available from The Handicapped Pets Foundation, only wheelchair donations to qualifying individuals. Apply for assistance on their website.

Onyx and Breezy Foundation

Provides funding and support for spay and neuter, cancer research, medicine and equipment for military and police canines, pets of individuals where medical hardship is present, helping the dogs of veterans suffering from PTSD, etc. Grant applications available on their website.

Paws 4 a Cure

Provides financial assistance for urgent veterinary care to dogs and cats in need across the United States for the treatment of illnesses and injuries. This includes medication, insulin, Heartworm positive treatment and medical equipment such as wheelchairs.

Red Rover Relief

Urgent Care grant program provides financial assistance, resources, and emotional support for pet guardians struggling with economic hardship when pets are in life-threatening situations.

STA Relief Home for Life Grants

Designed to provide financial assistance for veterinary care and resources to pet families in need. Typically, grants run between $100 and $500. To be considered, you must complete an application on their website.

The Pet Fund

Provides financial assistance to owners of domestic animals in the United States who need veterinary care. The Pet Fund works only on non-basic, non-urgent care, including medical needs such as cancer treatment, heart disease, chronic conditions, endocrine diseases, eye diseases, etc.

To request funding, owners must first email The Pet Fund at info@thepetfund.com with a description of the animal’s medical needs.

Violet’s Friends in Need

Provides urgent or critical veterinary care as well as therapy for animals in need. A pre- application process allows for a complete application for individuals who qualify. For more information, visit their website.

VCA Animal Hospital – 17 Chicagoland Locations

Financial assistance for income-qualified pet owners whose pet is suffering from an immediate life-threatening condition. You do not need to be an existing VCA Animal Hospitals client to apply, but treatment and the application process will be completed at a VCA Animal Hospital. The entire cost of your pet’s treatment will not be covered. All applications submitted must be reviewed for both medical and financial eligibility.

Breed Specific Foundations

Corgi Aid

Provides financial assistance to corgis and corgi mixes. They help out those who rescue dogs from shelters or other non-permanent homes, then foster them until a new home is found. CorgiAid gathers donations from those who want to help, and within funding guidelines gets funds to those rescuers who apply for help.

Special Needs Doberman

Helps senior and special needs Doberman Pinschers who may need financial help through Doberman Rescue Groups, or it may be only information and/or moral support for the owner of a Doberman with a serious illness or injury. They also aid Rescue Groups in rehoming and fostering senior Dobermans they may place under their care.
