Looking for a simple, meaningful way to help homeless dogs? Donate your car, truck or any motorized vehicle (running or not) to benefit Second City Canine Rescue! Second City Canine Rescue is partnering with the CARS vehicle donation program which tows your vehicle, sells it, then mails us a check to support our dogs!

Donating is easy, the pick-up is free, and your gift is tax-deductible.

Frequently Asked Questions

All vehicles are considered! CARS strives to accept all types of donated vehicles (running or not) including cars, trucks, trailers, boats, RVs, motorcycles, campers, off-road vehicles, planes, heavy equipment, farm machinery, and most other motorized vehicles. To find out if they can accept your vehicle, please complete their secure online vehicle donation form, or call them during regular hours of operation.

Yes! About six to eight weeks after your vehicle is donated, paperwork will be mailed to you with all of the information you need to deduct your donation off of your income taxes.

Yes! CARS can accept most vehicles, running or not. However, it must be in one piece and towable, have an engine, and be tow truck accessible. To find out if they can accept your vehicle, please complete the secure online vehicle donation form, or call 855-500-7433.

There is no cost to you. All expenses are deducted from the gross sales price, and if the costs ever exceed the price, those costs are covered by our vehicle donation program provider CARS (Charitable Adult Rides & Services).

Have the title to the vehicle with you when you call. Answer a few questions about the car, fill in the odometer reading and sign the title and then schedule a pickup time.

You will be contacted by our towing agent within two business days and receive a tax donation letter in 6-8 weeks. Towing service is available nationwide. That’s it!
