We’re thrilled to share the results of our very first adoption show at PetSmart on Rand Road in Geneva!

Eleven adorable dogs, along with a dedicated team of SCCR volunteer dog handlers and adoption counselors, spent the day meeting new friends and spreading the word about rescue. Our setup near the front of the store meant our dogs got tons of attention — and love — from shoppers coming and going.

By the end of the event, three dogs had found their forever homes, and at least three new volunteers signed up to foster and help even more dogs in need find their way to safety and, eventually, adoption.

What’s Next

We’re already planning our return. Mark your calendars — we’ll be back at PetSmart in Geneva on the following dates with new and just as adorable dogs:

  • September 27
  • October 25
  • November 15

As our volunteer and foster network continues to grow in the western suburbs, we will bring these shows to Geneva more frequently.
